Pelicans snap Hawks' 19-game winning streak

Pelicans snap Hawks' 19-game winning streak

For the majority of the game, the Pelicans led the Hawks by double digits, eventually ending their 19-game winning streak.

The Hawks' winning streak had to end sooner or later, and Monday night turned out to be the night, as Anthony Davis and the Pelicans stopped it with a 115-100 victory.

Davis, who returned to the Pelicans' lineup after missing one game with a groin injury, paced New Orleans with 29 points and 13 rebounds. Eric Gordon added 20 points with seven assists.

Jeff Teague led the Hawks with 21 points and added seven assists.

The Hawks shot 7-22 behind the 3-point mark, the last one at the final buzzer. They were also outrebounded 52-32.

Atlanta's 19-game streak is tied for the sixth-longest overall and the fifth-longest single-season run in NBA history.

Despite the loss, the team's official Twitter account had some fun with tweets during the game.

The Hawks still lead the NBA with a 40-9 record, while the Pelicans are 26-22.
